Vicara was founded in 1992 in the rolling hills of Rosignano Monferrato, in the heart of Piedmont, from the union of three historic families – Visconti, Cassinis and Ravizza – whose experience and passion are deeply rooted in the Monferrato countryside. The name Vicara itself is an acronym of these three surnames and symbolises a shared project: to protect and enhance the native grape varieties of Monferrato, first and foremost Grignolino, Barbera and Freisa. Today the estate cultivates 33 hectares of vineyards on complex, diverse soils that give the wines remarkable elegance, depth and minerality, making Vicara a benchmark for Monferrato lovers around the world.

Now led by Giuseppe and Emanuele Visconti, Vicara combines a long family history with a forward-looking, sustainable approach to viticulture. The winery works its vineyards almost entirely by hand and follows organic farming principles, with great care for biodiversity and environmental balance. Three key crus – Bricco Uccelletta, Crosia and Vadmon – belong to distinct geological areas: Uccelletta, with soils over 27 million years old, brings finesse and balance; Crosia, rich in multiple formations, lends structure and marked minerality; Vadmon expresses intense aromas and a vibrant, savoury character. Each parcel is vinified with artisanal precision to preserve the identity of Monferrato and to tell, through every bottle, a story of place, time and people.
