CARATTERISTICHE SENSORIALI
Magnificat 2021 from Drei Donà Forlì IGT is Tenuta La Palazza's bold Cabernet Sauvignon challenge—a true Romagna icon, crafted as a single-vineyard expression from a plot planted back in 1984, when the variety wasn't even permitted in the region. This 100% hillside Cabernet fuses power, elegance, and deep territorial character, earning 93 points from Robert Parker for the 2021 vintage. In the glass, it offers a very intense ruby red, nearly opaque at the core, with violet-garnet glints and impressive viscosity. The nose plunges into a deep, pure bouquet: blackcurrant, black cherry, and blackberry, trailed by dark chocolate, fine tobacco, sweet spices, pepper, balsamic tones, and an elegant vegetal edge (aromatic herbs, tomato leaf) from fully ripe fruit. On the palate, it's assertive and potent, with serious concentration, tightly sculpted tannins, vibrant acidity propping up the sip, and a very long, harmonious finish echoing dark berries, spices, and a mineral hint. The Magnificat vineyard (roughly 2.2-2.9 ha) sits in Forlì municipality within the Predappio subzone, on clay-silt soils with a limestone vein around 1 metre deep, at 150-160 metres altitude. Vinification features controlled stainless steel fermentation (24-27°C) with 20-23 days' skin maceration, malolactic in steel and barrel, and a lengthy 20 months in French oak barriques (Allier and Tronçais), plus at least 12 months in bottle—unfiltered, with 20+ years' ageing potential. Magnificat also tells the cantina's story: Claudio Drei Donà's symbol of a quality revolution, now reimagined by the next generation with laser-focused aromatics, formidable structure, and surprising approachability. It shines with red meats, game, grand braises, truffle dishes, and aged cheeses—a pedigreed Cabernet Sauvignon for those seeking an age-worthy red that channels Predappio's terroir on the world stage.
