TASTING NOTES
The Ried Loibenberg vineyard is one of the big names on the entire Wachau vineyard list. Vines over 50 years old grow on the south-facing stone terraces that rise above the Danube in a basin with Loess sediments. They create a wonderful wine that comes from the heart of this very specific terroir. The grapes, harvested manually in mid-October, ferment spontaneously and mature for 8-9 months in large oak barrels. The nose combines earthy and salty yeast, promising consistency and flavor. On the palate it then adds a nice maturity and roundness of Nashi pear that goes well with the earthy, concentrated and yeast base that maintains the concise concentration and crunchy freshness. This wine is round and expressive. Since 2017 these lands has been worked following the guidelines of organic viticulture while the wine and the cellar are certified organic since 2019 - AT-BIO 402.
