TASTING NOTES
High above the Danube, on the famous Steiner Pfaffenberg, the vines that give us this wine grow. The soils are arid and are composed of crystalline primary rock dominated by gneiss and mica schists. Simply perfect for Riesling. Exclusively hand-treated and organic since 2017 it has all the attributes to have been a wine of character and fine in the glass: transparent and extremely elegant without any heaviness either. The vines are 35 years old and the manual harvest is in mid-October. Fermentation and maturation last 5-6 months in stainless steel. A delicious hint of potentilla crushed on sun-warmed stone reaches the nose before the ripe lemon peel makes its entrance. On the palate it is concentrated and deep and from its structure comes an intense and ripe lemon juiciness. This Riesling is mouthwatering and pure, with a structural complexity that suggests this wine will evolve and show more of its herbaceous side. The finish is dry and impressive. Drink now and until 2035.
