TASTING NOTES
The Weissburgunder Pinot Bianco Alto Adige Winzerberg 2025 is a fresh and refined wine, produced by the eponymous South Tyrolean winery, embodying the excellence of the Alto Adige terroir. The 2025 vintage, marked by a balanced climate with sunny days and cool nights, yielded grapes of outstanding quality, featuring vibrant acidity and intense aromas—ideal for an elegant Pinot Bianco. Alto Adige, at altitudes between 400 and 700 metres, offers calcareous, clayey, and gravelly soils that ensure perfect drainage and pronounced minerality. The diurnal temperature swings, influenced by mountain breezes and a Mediterranean climate, impart freshness and unique aromatic complexity to the wine. This DOC Südtirol-Alto Adige is renowned for world-class whites like this Weissburgunder. The Pinot Bianco (Weissburgunder), originating from Burgundy but at home here, is a versatile grape variety that thrives on high altitudes and poor soils. It produces structured yet light wines, with fruity and mineral notes, perfectly expressing alpine character without excess. In Alto Adige, it excels thanks to slow ripening, which preserves acidity and finesse. Visually, it presents a bright straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights, clear and inviting. On the nose, it releases a fruity bouquet of yellow apples, pears, peaches, and subtle pineapple hints, fresh and harmonious. In the mouth, it is pleasant and rich in extract, with balanced freshness, a persistent finish, and elegant minerality—ideal for aperitifs or fish dishes. Perfect with asparagus, spaghetti allo scoglio, South Tyrolean specialities, or vegetarian plates. Winzerberg, an artisanal winery, cultivates only seven carefully selected grape varieties with biodynamic passion—a fun fact that underscores its authenticity.
